“The Internet is a great source of information, but it can also be a source of anxiety for parents who worry about privacy issues, pornography, and predators who may take advantage of naive youngsters. Cervera, a Spanish lawyer who has worked for the European Union as an intellectual property specialist, tells parents how to keep their children safe online and provides good, basic information for parents who are not sophisticated technology users. He explains that the web is a place for finding information that can promote creativity and help students learn, and he encourages parents to let their children use it at ageappropriate levels, with parental controls and supervision for the younger ones. Cervera pushes parents to learn more about computers so that they can work with their children and set clear limits about which activities are acceptable and how much time they may spend online. This is a good addition to general public library collections.—Barbara M. Bibel, Oakland Public Library, Oakland, CA”
